Elluminate
Described by Wright State University this way:
"Narrate a PowerPoint presentation online live with this Web conferencing system made for higher education. Students may participate in the session with two-way audio, text messaging, a shared whiteboard, surveys, quizzes and more."
I have been using Elluminate to draw animals at the request of my two and a half year old niece in the Northwest. On-going audio issues (chirps & piercing squeaks) have been resolved by using headphones. The issue came from the use of external speakers and an external mic at the same time. Plug headphones in and the jarring conflict between the two disappears.
Elluminate is free for up to three users and easy to do:
- Sign up for an account (your partners will need to do this too)
- Invite your partners (or a partner may invite you - will need their user name to invite them)
- Those invited should check their email for the invite
- Click the link in the email and a Java based application will open on your computer
- To get the most out of the application - have your headphones, mic and web cam hooked up
